So What is it I’m Writing?

For weeks now I’ve been reading up on agents. This week I’ve been reading the Writer’s Market agent listings although from a few years ago.

Trouble is, when I read the sections that say Needs: XYZ. I don’t know anymore what my work is. Am I mainstream? Literary? Women’s? Ethnic? Gay?

I’m looking for one for the short story collection (some of the stories accessible from the links to the right of this page). But what to do in a collection of ethnic and non ethnic, literary and non literary, punk, mainstream, gay, straight, erotic , conservative characters and writing?! I’m totally confused now.
