Love Poem a Day in February

It seems to be going around the Internet like a virus. Love poems. One for everyday of February.  I will try my hand at it too.

February 1st

A little more sun

A little more snow melt

the need of sleep

the need of thaw

and i’m thinking of whether

you woke early this morning as I did

in the wee hours of incantation

the still hours

when I brought your name to my lips

looking out onto the half moon forest

creatureless, soundless, wind still,

breathing in the melting ice, crisp night

the cold silence of us
