How Could I Love You?

How could I have loved you

you hated the Beatles

didn’t do the dividing line

of pre Rubber Soul or post Revolver

You didn’t like twangy bands either

didn’t understand Bob Dylan

didn’t see yourself in the songs

even though you were every

messed up villan even when

you’d see her and say hello

It seems quite impossible

that I’d have listened to your music

those whispers and smells so

soothing to my ear for so long.

You didn’t have any rhythm for me

after all.
